The week beginning 24th February will be our first Royal Liberty Cultural Enrichment Week! The idea of running a culture day was brought to senior leadership by the student voice last year and since the first discussions it has now grown to become our first Cultural Enrichment Week.
The excitement is beginning to rise amongst staff and students alike and the student voice has worked so hard over months now in getting each element of the week organised. They really do want this week to be one in which we can all engage and have fun in learning something new about other cultures, experience and participate in new activities and food and celebrate the diversity that makes up our unique school community. The week will include cultural assemblies and form time activities (designed and led by students), a one off canteen menu (with a different continent represented each day, again chosen by students), different lessons on the Wednesday, focussing upon a different cultural influence within subject areas and an array of music, art and unique clubs on offer for that week.
I would like to thank our students who have given ideas and worked hard in ensuring that this is what I am certain will be a superb week of fun, learning and celebration. I would particularly like to thank the year 11 college captains who have put a huge amount of effort into ensuring that whilst they won’t be able to participate in many extra curricular opportunities on offer (due to their PPE exams starting the week after), they will be leaving a great legacy in the work that they have done for the rest of their school community in getting this week organised.
